Jyotishmati: Benefits in overall Health (Celastrus paniculatus)

External use:
- Daad (Ringworm): Grinding Jyotishmati leaves with a fine powder of black pepper and applying it on Dadar is beneficial.
- Kandu (Pruritus): Grind Jyotishmati seeds with cow urine and apply.
- Arsh (Piles): Grinding Jyotishmati seed in water and applying it to the Piles, helps to stop bleeding.
- Dhwajbhang (Impotency): Grind sesame seeds in the powder of Jyotishmati Beej, castor seed, Asgandh, and Akarkara and put it on a betel leaf and tie it on the penis and tie a langot (cloth). Tie it at night while sleeping and wash the penis with warm water in the morning, it cures impotency.
- Smritimandya (Memory loss): Mixing the oil of Jyotishmati with real almond oil should be massaged on the head. It is beneficial for the patient with mania. This increases intelligence and memory. Almond oil should be four times that of Jyotishmati oil.
- Svitra (Leucoderma):
Its oil should be applied regularly on the whiter. Soak Jyotishmati seeds in cow urine for 21 days and then take out their oil and apply it to the white. Change cow urine daily.
7. Drishtimandya (Weak Eyes): Regular massage of Jyotishmati oil on the steps increases the light of the eyes.
8. Leprosy: It is beneficial to massage this oil in diseases like leprosy, kandu, etc. The oil should be extracted by the Patalayantra method. The oil extracted by this method is more beneficial.
9. Vatavyadhi (Vata Disorder): Abhyanga (massage) of this oil has been said to be beneficial in paralysis, Ardit, Sandhivat, Gridhrasi, Katishul, etc. Weakness of hands and feet is eradicated by the practice of this oil.

- Dhwaj Bhang: The impotence ends by eating the seeds mixed with kheer.
- Buddhimadya (Lack of Intellect): Jyotishmatibeej, Vacha, Atis, and Devdaru grind them finely and mix them with Ghee, Cow urine, and Katkari vowels and take it, the intellect becomes sharp.
- Dentistry: Jyotishmati beej, Majith, Harad, Daruhaldi, Lodhra, and Aloe vera are powdered and rubbed on the teeth, there is benefit in bleeding from the teeth, their movement, etc.
- Sandhivat (Arthritis): Jyotishmati beej powder and black cumin seeds powder, take 4 grams powder with hot water is beneficial.
- Insomnia: Jyotishmati beej powder, Jatamansi, Sarpagandha, and sugar candy, take this powder with milk; It will help to sleep sound.
- Asthma: Taking 2-2 grams of Jyotishmati seeds, and large cardamom seeds and taking them with honey reduce Asthma.

Weakness: Consuming leaf powder with milk and honey is also beneficial, and helps to reduce weakness. It is useful in old age.
- Smritimadya (Memory Loss): Eating 5-10 drops of oil increases memory. It is also beneficial in mental diseases like mania, dyspnoea, etc.
- Beri-Beri: 15 drops of this should be given 2-3 times in this disease.
- Abdomen: It is beneficial to take it with milk for stomach diseases.
- Fever: After taking the oil, after 2-3 hours, fever is reduced by sweating vigorously. It is more useful for beriberi than other fevers. Which has been described earlier.
- Decay: It should be consumed with Rajat Bhasma.
Jyotishmati oil: The oil that is extracted from Jyotishmati seeds, there are two methods of it pressing in the crusher and by the Patalayantra. The oil obtained by the first method is yellow in color, which becomes a blood color due to its aging. The oil obtained by the second method is a black color which is called black oil (Oleum Nigrum).
A substance called creosote is obtained in the oil by this method. Oil is also obtained by crushing the seeds and returning them to water. While extracting the oil, nutmeg, mace, Cloves, myrrh, etc. are also mixed with the seeds. Physicians use it for end scrape and outer scrape.
There may be vomiting in the beginning, due to which all the mucus comes out. People eager to increase memory power often consume it.
